WHO ARE WE ?

Established in 2012, the Bartlett Urban Planning Society (BUPS) is a student-run organisation, subsumed under the Bartlett School of Planning (BSP). BUPS represents, reinforces and protects the interests of planning students while inspiring the community-at-large of our role in the Built Environment.

Membership for BUPS is granted automatically to all BSP students. Membership provides unlimited access to our events, careers services and networks. However, we do welcome other UCL students interested in planning for our activities.

As a student-centred organisation, we share career opportunities, celebrate our students’ successes and provide support to enhance our members’ university experience, all the while fostering lifelong friendships. We have a strong partnership with the BSP and are supported by the department for our academic, career and financial needs.

OUR MISSION

- INSPIRE -

To introduce members to the diverse built environment sector outside of their study programme, to engage them in debates about the future of the places where we live, work and play. We also want to promote career opportunities during our members’ time in university as well as after graduation, ensuring that they are well-equipped to tackle the challenges of the future.

- MENTOR -

To provide extra academic support to members. We work with transition mentors and academic representatives to provide a safe environment - this includes welcoming new students, allaying their concerns and providing skills training.

- CELEBRATE -

To provide opportunities for social interaction amongst members. A large part of university life is about having a great time and making friends for life. We want to encourage this through field trips, parties and other social activities which are open and inclusive, whilst bringing together our BSP Community to celebrate our successes.
